Espace Musées is paying tribute to Dina Vierny, presenting 21 pieces from the personal collection of her sons, Olivier and Bertrand Lorquin, in partnership with the Dina Vierny-Musée Maillol Foundation. This exhibition will be on display from 10 October 2018 to 8 March 2019 in Terminal 2E, Hall M.

On 10 October 2018, Augustin de Romanet, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Groupe ADP, officially opened the exhibition, entitled Dina Vierny – Un éclectisme électrique de Maillol à Marcel Duchamp (Electric eclecticism from Maillol to Marcel Duchamp), in the presence of Francis Briest, President of Espace Musées and Olivier Lorquin, Director of the Dina Vierny-Musée Maillol Foundation.

A unique fate in the history of 20th century art

As the centenary of her birth approaches, so does the tenth anniversary of her death. In honour of Dina Vierny, Espace Musées is retracing the various paths in the life story of this young 15-year old woman, exiled from Stalin’s USSR, who famously went on to become the muse of Aristide Maillol. Vierny also posed for Matisse, Bonnard and Dufy, opened a gallery in Paris and in 1995, created the Dina Vierny-Musée Maillol Foundation as a tribute to the sculptor.

Quotes

This 10th Espace Musées exhibition is full of firsts. Firstly, because for the first time, we have the honour of presenting to you and to our passengers, a very personal insight into and a daring and highly intimate portrayal of someone who played a leading role in the history of art, with a capital H and a capital A […]. Francis Briest, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Artcurial and President of the Espace Musées endowment fund

This is an exhibition like no other. Indeed, beyond the privilege of welcoming the heirs of Dina Vierny, it pays homage to someone who was a keen traveller, a model, and an art collector and dealer. A complete artist if you will. For the next six months, our passengers can discover her creativity and the unique story of her life, through this collection of works. Augustin de Romanet, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Groupe ADP
