Norwegian is the third-largest low-cost airline in Europe and the sixth-largest in the world. Founded in 1993, it operates 448 routes to 138 destinations in Europe, the United States, North Africa, the Middle East and South-East Asia. In France, Norwegian operates from 10 airports, including Paris-Charles de Gaulle, where on 1 March 2017 the airline opened its first pilot base.
In 2016, Norwegian once again received several international prizes awarded by consumers:
- Best low-cost long-haul airline (World), 2nd consecutive year
- Best low-cost long-haul airline (Europe), 4th consecutive year
Norwegian celebrated its 4-millionth long-haul passenger on 13 March this year, at its Paris-Charles de Gaulle base (Terminal 1). Before taking off for Fort Lauderdale (one of Norwegian’s 3 American routes, along with New York-JFK and Los Angeles), the lucky winner, who was making a stopover in Paris, was awarded a ticket for 2 people, valid on the Norwegian airline’s long-haul flights.
(*) Next summer, Norwegian Air Shuttle is due to launch a new link between its base at Paris-CDG and Orlando, the 4th transatlantic link departing from Paris.
